ITINERARIO DÍA A DÍA
DÍA 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo

Our adventure begins early in the morning as our driver takes us to the Temple of Pachamama (Ñaupa Iglesia), an ancient ceremonial site where the Incas once worshipped their deities. From here, we’ll continue to a small community near Qory Song’o Hill (Golden Heart), where a scenic hike awaits. As we ascend to the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Soqma, Perolniyoc, Pachar, and Huarocondo valleys.

Along the way, you’ll encounter sacred tombs that have been carefully preserved by the locals. Explore these ancient sites with your guide, and marvel at the original wooden and leather structures that have withstood the test of time—this is a truly exclusive experience for travelers.

Our trek continues to the Perolniyoc Waterfall viewpoint, where we’ll take a break for lunch before heading to the Q’orimarca archaeological site, once an Incan checkpoint. From here, we’ll make our way to our campsite, located at 3,700 meters (12,139 ft) above sea level. Today’s hike covers 7 km (4.3 miles), setting the tone for the journey ahead.

DÍA 2: Q'orimarca Camp – Choque Tacarpo Camp

Prepare for the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. We’ll start with a 3-hour hike to the Puccaqasa Pass (4,400 meters / 14,435 ft), where the stunning valley views will take your breath away. After soaking in the panoramic vistas, we’ll continue for a short hike before stopping for lunch.

Next, we’ll push onward to Kuychicassa, the highest point of our trek at 4,450 meters (14,599 ft). From here, we’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas—if we’re lucky, we might even spot majestic Andean condors soaring above. Our journey continues as we descend to Intipunku (Sun Gate), a sacred site dedicated to the revered Huacay Willca mountain (Nevado Veronica), an important Incan spiritual landmark.

After exploring this sacred site, we’ll head to our campsite at Choque Tacarpo, located at 3,600 meters (11,811 ft). This day’s hike covers 14 km (8.7 miles), with plenty of rewarding stops along the way.

DÍA 3: Choque Tacarpo Camp – Ollantaytambo

After an early start, we’ll set off on a mostly downhill trek. Our first stop is the Cachiqata Stone Quarry, where you’ll see unfinished Incan stonework, including carved stones, Incan tombs, and blocks that were in the process of being shaped. We’ll also visit an ancient Incan bridge—a true testament to the advanced engineering of the Inca civilization.

After this fascinating exploration, we’ll continue our trek to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll arrive at the town and make our way to the train station. Before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes, you’ll have some free time to explore Ollantaytambo, a charming town steeped in history. Afterward, we’ll take the train to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll stay in a comfortable hotel.

DÍA 4: Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu)

Today is the grand finale of our journey! After an early breakfast, we’ll take a bus to Machu Picchu according to our scheduled entry. Once inside, you’ll be guided through the main highlights of this sacred site, including temples, palaces, and residential areas. Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, will surely leave you in awe as you uncover its mysteries.

Due to new regulations, Machu Picchu visits follow a set route based on reserved tickets, so be prepared to explore along the predetermined path. After the guided tour, we’ll head back to Aguas Calientes for lunch, then board a panoramic train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a transfer back to Cusco, where we’ll arrive in the late afternoon.
